“Life is a challenge, a savannah, a long stream, a great staircase, a mirror in the sea, a great enigma, a transitory nightmare, a revenge”, wrote Marta Toraldo. Life is a puzzle, it proposes images and asks for words, conscience, to be resolved.

These are verses full of “thinking”. They dare to contact the “profound”, dialogue with “the soul”, something that “cannot be manufactured …” something “innate … the deepest voice of our sanity”.

Sometimes poetry is stammering, beating to find a word, to confirm the self, one’s being in the World. That babble is a gift, an enlightenment! It is up to the poet to grow into it, it is up to the poet to welcome it to make it useful fertilizer for himself and for the other in the gift

Marta Toraldo is full of poetry. The first verses very young in 2009 in “Vie Fuggitive”, then in 2013 “El vacio” complex poetic collections for the vital effect that they play in the relationship with the reader. Poet capable of welcoming, moving and shaping the restless into words that reveal the wound … they change it into sound. They alleviate it by making it a “speech”, a relationship, an encounter. “Transgression as a mystical form” Martha theorizes in her verses. Art learns to recreate, to generate, to lighten all that is heavy, pre-established, predictable, scarcely visible or only intuitive, it is light, art, an ideal project. // I’d like to build my own character. Beginning to know every single moment of pause, momentum, stopping. // Every characteristic of image, moods and departure, being able to have my feet free to play fighting hostilities, having a strong mind, and a body in ideal shape for myself.
